Our History:
Here at Florida Reef Labs® we are passionate about reefs and everything that goes into trying to mimic them at home and maintain them for many years. Florida Reef Labs is a family owned (4th generation farmer) and operated Licensed Florida Aquaculture Farmer (AQ# 0239290) with over 30 years of experience!

Valuable feedback received from our loyal customers has played an integral role in shaping the forward progression of our business to exceed industry standards.

During the global pandemic we started thinking about other ways to further support our customers and their reef systems since it was hard to source many products at that time. So, we started raising multiple species of copepods (apocyclops, tisbe, tigger) using our own proprietary system and processes that has proven to produce healthy and dense populations of copepods as well as increased our culture capacity of Phytoplankton. We grow phytoplankton from inoculated samples (from local aqua farms) using sterile techniques and we then store/refrigerate after harvest so that all of the nutritional value is preserved before selling or feeding to our own systems.
After expanding we found that many of our long time customers moved away but continued to reach out to our local farm for products, which became increasingly difficult to manage. We realized that the only way we could continue to service all our customers was to expand our public offering and go live with a new website so everyone would have the ability to reach us and their favorite products (Quality Clean Chaeto, Live Phytoplankton, Live Copepods, Live Rotifers as well as Frozen and refrigerated foods and some special home grown tools/kits for everyone in the hobby!).
