  • Live Copepods are a fantastic way of adding biodiversity to your reef aquarium. They serve as members of your cleanup crew, eating detritus and improving water quality. In addition, their small size makes them excellent at getting into the tiniest crevices in your live rock and eating waste inaccessible to snails and crabs.

     

    Pods are also the only food some picky fish will eat; examples include mandarins, pipefish, and some wrasses. These fish generally won't eat anything but live food, and copepods are their preferred menu item! Your corals also love to eat copepods, which helps them gain the nutrients they need to grow and maintain optimum health.

     

    Apocylops are a little bit smaller and harder for fish to catch than Tigriopus. Combined with the fact that it is a prolific breeder, it is easier for Apocyclops to begin a self-sustaining colony in your tank. Young Apocyclops prefer to live in your rocks and eat detritus; as they grow into adults, they become free-swimming and make an excellent target for fish and corals. Apocyclops are prolific breeders and will quickly form a self-sustaining colony in your tank.

    I have used this product many times and they always arrive healthy, feisty, and very numerous. After several purchases I knew if I needed product this was the one stop shop to fill all of my needs with high quality product from rotifers to phyto - copepods 100%.

    This time I got the gallon for my new 230 build, I have purchased from the others and by far this is the most healthy and dense pods I have ever got. Previously I got the 16oz bottles, same deal dense and healthy. Packaging could be better but no big deal

    We are so happy you enjoyed our product! We strive to be the best and we pack our pods denser than anyone on the market, as you found! As per your comment about packaging, we would love your input on how to make it better for you. We have stress tested our packaging and found the best minimal packaging we can ship with so we have the best outcome BUT with the cheapest price point. This translates to a more affordable product for our customers in that we do not spend a ton of fancy labels and tape and/or foam if not needed so that we can out-compete our competitors price points but also provide superior products. That said, we welcome suggestions on how you feel we can do better as we always want to improve our processes when and if we can and we value every customers input!

    SO DENSE
